  • REBIRTH - photo challenge

Rebirth ....I kept slipping back and photographing Birth. I'm thinking that  birth from generation to generation is RE-birth of  family.

John 3:3 Jesus said "Verily verily I say unto you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"

  • photo challenge - FAVORITES

Its April 11th - photo challenge due date.  Here they are...  I left my obvious favorites unphotographed (ron and the kids) mainly because -  well ...to get the group together is nearly impossible - i just didnt want to subject myselft to the hassle. I'll include them eventually. So i decide to just shoot other stuff - stuff i enjoy watching, doing and being around.
"These are a few of my favorite things..."

I've started knitting again - it's been  long time.....but i think that's what grandmoms-to-be are supposed to do.

Nellie, our chocolate lab - i just LOVE her

I thoroughly enjoy watching basketball - Growing up with 3 brothers, having 4 boys over 6 ft tall and a jock daughter -you just cant get away from it

Spring - flowers - warmer weather  -Truly one of my favorites

  • photo challenge DISORDER

I'm actually starting to wonder why I'm doing this.....doesnt seem anyone looks at these pictures.  Well, I'll give it another shot...
Disorder....not an easy word to photograph.  Since our house fire...well, i just dont have that much junk anymore.
Disorder...I jokingly told my hubby, Ron, that i should just take a picture of him.....He only barely smiled at my suggestion so I thought i'd better go elsewhere for my pictures - I, apparently, thought it was funnier than he did.  Well, here goes...

  • Bye Bye Puppies

It's already been 7 weeks since "our babies"were born - and now it's time to say good bye.  This brings happy and say feelings rushing my  way - mostly sad.  They are A LOT of work.  The first four weeks it's a survival watch,  making sure they are healthy, making sure they're all being nursed and weighing them to make sure they're gaining properly.  THEN their eyes open and they start walking and they start eating puppy food.  Their world changes - and so does mine.  By 5 weeks  things get crazy - they're over the barrier and into everything.  And the clean up in the morning....well, let's just not go there(remember, puppy food brings puppy poop).  So here they are ....all sold  and ready for pick up day.  All have gone but two.  Happily the yellow one has become my "grandpuppy" and will be staying  in the family  - thanks to J and L!  He is adorable.  They've named him Digby.

  • Nellie's First Litter of Puppies

Day 60 - We knew the puppies would be born soon - anytime between day 59 to day 63.  So Nellie(our chocolate lab) was just on time.  She was considerate and let me sleep all night and started having her puppies at 7:30 this morning. The last one was born this afternoon around 3:00.  This was Nellie's first litter, so when she "dropped" the first puppy she didnt seem to know what was going on - just leaving it lay there in its sac.  When I got to it it was lifeless and limp.  After 10 minutes of vigorous rubbing and suctioning  - nothing-i was sure it was dead ........then G said "why dont you try mouth to mouth resuscitation mom?"  I did....and to my astonishment after 3 small breaths the puppy gasped and started breathing! I could hardly believe it! It took 15 min. of working her before she showed any signs of life - wow! She's doing great at this point.  She was followed by five other chocolate and then to our surprise a yellow pup  popped out, followed by another chocolate. So the final count is 8 (7 chocolate and 1 yellow)  We name all of our puppies, always having a theme. This litter is all candy names - so we have  Skittle, DumDum, Smartie, SugarBaby, Twizzler, Mike and Ike [theyre the 2 choc. males :) ],and the yellow male is not named yet -we're letting my nephew name it since his likes yellow puppies.  So that was my day....I'm beat....I'll spend the night on the sofa tonight - close to the new momma and babies.
